3.2.22 Upper Feed Roller Assembly
1. Perform these procedures:

2. Remove the three screws (1).
3. Remove the left (2) and right (3) ADF ground plates.
4. Rotate the bearings (4) as shown in Figure A.
5. Lift the feed roller assembly (5) straight up, and then slide it in the direction of Arrow B to
remove.
NOTE:
The upper feed roller assembly consists of the feed roller one, the Z28 gear, the ADF bearings,
and the compression washers. To replace of these parts, order the assembly.
Cleaning
Clean the upper feed roller assembly as necessary.
Refer to Section 3.4 of this Service
Handbook for cleaning details .
Lubrication
Lightly lubricate the Z28 gear.
Refer to Section 3.5 of this Service Handbook for lubrication
details .
