6 18 Section 6: Setting up mailboxes
Before the System Coordinator Mailbox or any Personal Mailbox can

be used, it is necessary to initialize the mailbox. Initializing a mailbox involves:

A Personal Mailbox cannot receive messages until it is initialized. All the
Special Mailboxes must have the default password changed and the name of
the mailbox recorded in the Company Directory. Ensure you write down and
keep the passwords for the Special Mailboxes in a safe place.
The General Delivery Mailbox can receive messages before it is initialized. You
must initialize this mailbox before you can retrieve any messages from it.
Note: The steps for initializing Special Mailboxes and Personal Mailboxes are
the same.
A mailbox is only initialized once. After a mailbox is initialized, the mailbox
owner can change the password and re-record the Company Directory name
using the Mailbox Administration options in the mailbox. For more information
refer to the Mini Reference Guide, Mailbox options.
About the
Each mailbox registered with is protected by a password that is
passwords
established by the mailbox owner. When you add a mailbox to the
password 0000 is automatically assigned. This is called the default password.
To use a mailbox, a mailbox owner must change the default password. The
new password must be between four and eight digits in length.
Note: A mailbox password cannot start with zero, and must be no longer than
eight digits.
If a mailbox owner cannot remember their password, you can reset the mailbox
password to the default password 0000. Refer to Section
