Switching on the headlamps

Light switch

Dipped-beam headlamps on

Turn the light switch to

The dipped-beam headlamps come on.

The

indicator lamp on the light

switch come on.

Do not drive at high engine speeds until the

engine has warmed up. This will protect the en-
gine.

Upshifts are made at higher engine speeds

after a cold start. This helps the catalytic con-
verter to reach its operating temperature more
quickly.

You can open the doors from inside at any

time. Open the doors only if the vehicle is sta-
tionary and road and traffic conditions permit.

You can also switch off the automatic door lock-
ing function (

Risk of accident

There is no power assistance for the steer-
ing or the service brake when the engine is
not running.

You will need to use significantly more force
to steer and brake and could therefore lose
control of the vehicle and cause an accident.

Never turn off the engine while driving.

On some country-specific vehicle variants,

the dipped-beam headlamps come on when you
switch on the ignition.
