Risk of accident

Only adjust the driver's seat when the vehi-
cle is stationary. Otherwise, you may no
longer be able to observe road and traffic
conditions and you could lose control of the
vehicle as a result of the seat moving. You
could therefore cause an accident.
Risk of injury
G
To reduce the risk of severe or even fatal in-
juries in the event of an accident with a high
rate of deceleration, e.g. by an airbag inflat-
ing within milliseconds, observe the follow-
ing points:

All vehicle occupants must select a seat
position that allows the seat belt to be
worn correctly and that is as far away
from the front airbags as possible.
The position of the driver's seat must al-
low the driver to drive the vehicle safely.
The distance from the driver's seat to
the pedals must be such that the driver
can fully depress the pedals. The dis-
tance between the driver's chest and
the centre of the airbag cover must be
more than 25 cm. The driver's arms
should be slightly bent when holding the
steering wheel.

Position the passenger seat as far back
as possible.

Vehicle occupants must always wear
their seat belt correctly (

Do not lean forward (e.g. over the pad-
ded boss of the steering wheel), in par-
ticular while the vehicle is in motion.

Do not rest your feet on the dashboard.

Only hold the steering wheel by the out-
side of the rim. This allows the airbag to
deploy unhindered. You could be injured
if the airbag deploys and you are holding
the inside of the steering wheel.
