If the Update Manager can’t login to the mirror, it will report that to the
viewer along with the win32 error code (5=access denied) and the
username it is trying.
Update remains marked as ‘Pending’
If you’ve submitted an update that remains marked as Pending when you
view batch updates, it means that the Update Manager has seen this update
but has decided that the update is not due yet.
Compare the system time on the Management Server and on the machine from
which you submitted the update (using the Management Console). If they are
greatly different, this will cause problems. If the update was not scheduled, it
won’t occur until the time on the Management Server passes the time on the
Management Console machine when the update was submitted. If it was
scheduled, the Update Manager uses the time on the Management Server to
determine if the update is due yet.
Installing anti-virus components to different directories
By default, the anti-virus components are installed onto member machines on
the system drive, as shown in the following table:
However, this can differ depending on how you installed Windows for
Workgroups 3.11/Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT.
You can change the installation directory for all anti-virus domains, individual
domains, specific member groups, or individual machines.
