Using the Alert Manager
3. You can update this list in one of the following ways:
• To remove a computer/user from the list, select one of the
destination computers/users, then click
Remove .
• To add a computer/user to the list, click Add to open the Network
Message Properties dialog box ( Figure 6-6 on page 172 ), then enter
the name of the destination computer in the Computer box. You can
enter the computer name in Universal Naming Convention (UNC)
notation
\\server_name
or click
Browse
to locate the computer on the network.

NOTE: If the specified name is both a valid username and
computer, the alert message will be sent to the username.
Also, to send local alerts to the local computer, you must add
the
!MACHINENAME! macro in the Computer box. The
convention is to use the macro !MACHINENAME! or
!MANSERVERNAME! These macros are case-sensitive, so be
sure to type them as uppercase.
To choose additional options, continue with Step 4 .
• To change configuration options, select one of the destination
computers listed, then click
Properties . Alert Manager opens the
Network Message Properties dialog box ( Figure 6-6 on page 172 ).
Change any of the information you want to change in the Computer
box, then continue with Step 4 to choose new or different
configuration options.
