Creating a NavisCore Data Device on Partition 5
To create a NavisCore data device for Sybase on Partition 5:
1. At the
partition
prompt, enter

2. At the
Enter partition id tag
prompt, enter
unassigned
.
3. At the
Enter partition permission flags
prompt, enter
wm
.
4. At the
Enter new starting cyl[xxxx]:
prompt, enter:

Enter partition size
prompt, do the following:
a. To allocate the remaining disk space for the NavisCore Data and Log devices,
use the following equation to calculate the partition size for each device:
(< Total available cylinders on drive > - < Total cylinders
used for partitions 0, 3 and 4 >)/2 = < NavisCore Data/Log
device size >
For example, using the values shown in Figure 3-3 on page 3-12 :
(4924 (available cylinders on drive) - 815 (total used
cylinders)) / 2 = 2054 (NavisCore data device size).
b. In this example, you would enter
2054c
at the
Enter partition size
prompt.
6. At the
partition
prompt, view the partition table by entering
print
.
