Defining a Static Route to the NMS
To communicate with your network and manage your switches, you must add a static
route from your NMS to your gateway switch.
Figure 6-5
shows a sample static route
connection. When you first create the Map, the default internal network address
(152.148.0.0) is displayed.

If you use Routing Information Protocol (RIP) to communicate with your
network, you do not have to define a Static Route to the NMS. For more information
