Warning
Depending on the clinical situation, users need to verify the ap-
propriateness of the set alarm limits and delay times, if any, and
consider additional monitoring methods (e.g., pulse oximetry).
7.3.8
Drug nebulization
Medication can be nebulized with elisa 300 / elisa 500 by means of a pneumatic
nebulizer. The nebulizer can be activated in all ventilation modes. .
Remark
For a detailed description of the nebulizer application, please re-
fer to the separate document “Instructions for Use – Supplement
A – Manoeuvres, Functions, Ventilation Modes”.
Warning
The use of an externally driven nebulizer can affect the accuracy
of the ventilator.
Remark
If the compensation values are high, the activation of expiratory
compensation can lead to auto-triggering of the pressure support.
In this case, a higher trigger sensitivity should be selected.
7.3.9
Start ventilation / Stop ventilation
To start the configured ventilation mode, select and confirm “Start Ventilation” in
the standby mode.
To terminate the ventilation procedure, touch the “Ventilation” button and then
select “Stop ventilation”. Confirm with “Enter”. To prevent that the ventilation
procedure is terminated inadvertently, a warning is displayed, which must be ac-
knowledged separately.
If configured, the APD function prevents the activation of the “Stop Ventilation”
button during a ventilation procedure. The tubing system must be disconnected
first. The ventilator detects the disconnection and the dimmed “Stop ventilation”
button is enabled.
