Basic Instructions for Use elisa 300-500

7.3.1

Set ventilation mode

A narrow coloured bar at the top of the screen identifies the active ventilation

mode.

NIV (non-invasive)

Depending on selected screen colour:

green

blue

IV (invasive)

grey

Backup ventilation

yellow

Resuscitation (or CPR) mode

red

The backup mode is indicated in the backup mode window.

Open the menu for selection of the ventilation mode with the “Ventilation” but-

ton in the button bar. Select one of the preconfigured ventilation modes and adapt

the ventilation parameters to the patient's needs (also refer to chapter 7.3.3“Set

ventilation parameters”).

7.3.2

Change ventilation mode

To switch between ventilation modes during ventilation, select the “Ventilation”

button in the button bar. Activate the new ventilation mode in the ventilation

mode bar, then press the “Change Mode: Manual” button or the “Change Mode:

Wizard” button, and confirm the change with the Enter button.

A wizard is available for switching between volume-controlled and pressure-con-

trolled ventilation modes. On the basis of the measured values, the assistant rec-

ommends a pressure or a volume setting.

The plateau pressure values measured last, for example, are used to set Pinsp.

With the arrow button

you display the advanced parameters. The number of

advanced parameters available depends on the configuration settings.

Remark

The “Change Mode: Wizard” function is not available when the

current measured values cannot be used as the basis for an auto-

matic switchover. The button is inactive.
