Maintenance and repair

8.1 

Device maintenance

Caution

Before performing any maintenance, ensure that the device and its 

accessories are properly disinfected.

To ensure the proper functioning of the device during its service life, perform 

regular maintenance. 

The user of the device is responsible for proper maintenance. Maintenance work 

is not covered by the warranty of the manufacturer or supplier.

Maintenance work does not require special skills or knowledge; it is not neces-

sary to disassemble and reassemble the electronic components for maintenance.

Even if the device is not used or temporarily stored, it must be checked for prop-

er functioning at least once per year.

Replacing the water trap

•  Disconnect the interface cable of the device from the intensive care ventilator.

•  Disconnect the airway adapter from the breathing circuit.

•  Disconnect the sampling line from the water trap.

•  Remove the water trap by pressing the two tabs on the sides of the water 

trap; then pull it carefully forward, away from the device.

•  Install a new water trap: it must click into place.

Replacing the rubber O-rings

• 

Use tweezers to remove the rubber O-rings from the fittings.

• 

Again using tweezers, stretch the new rubber O-ring and place it on the fitting. 

Apply the second rubber O-ring in the same way.

•  Rubber O-rings are usually easy to stretch without tearing.
