Portées  de  palier  et  roulement 

Les  supports  de  palier sont constitués  par  un roulement à rou­

leaux  coté  prise  de  force  et  par  un  roulement  à  bielles  coté 

volant.  Rémplacer  le  roulement  à  billes  coté  volant  en  cas  de 

détérioration  des  billes  ou  des  chemins  de  roulement,  provo­
quant  des  bruits  pendant  le  fonctionnement. 

ARBRE  A  CAMES 

S'assurer  que  les  cames,  les  axes  et  l'engranage  ne  soient  pas 
usagés  ou  rayés. 

Diamètre des  axes 15,96 

15,98 mm.  non  rectifiable  (Fig.  26). 

Pour  des  cotes différentes  et  avec  un  jeu  entre si'èges  et  axes 

supérieur  à  0,10  mm.  remplacer  l'arbre  à  cames. 

Vérifier  les  cames  comme  par  tableau.

Toutes  rayures  légères  ou  marques  doivent  etre  repassées  au 
moyen d'une lime au  carborundum à  grains  très fins et refinies 
au  moyen  d'une  toile  de  meme  nature. 

Vérifier  les  phases  des  cames  comme  indiqué  à  pàge  27. 
L'arbre  à  cames  est  unifié  pour  tous  les  moteurs  de  la  serie.

Il est monté pour faciliter le démarrage,  en  retardant la ferme­

ture de  la soupape  d'échappement  des moteurs équippés  de  dé­
marreur  automatique  ou  démarreur  (Pages  18  et  19).

Vérifier  le  glissement  de  la  masse  centrifuge,  la  position  cor­

recte  de  ressort  et  que  la  saillie  du  poussoir  sur  la  carne  soit

Crankshaft  bearings 

A  ba/I  bearing  is  fitted  on  flywheel  side  and  a  needle  bearing 

on  P.T.O.  side. 

Replace  bai/  bearing  should  the  balls  or the  race  be  damaged. 

This  condition  could  be  detected  through  a  noise  originating 
during  the  operation. 

CAMSHAFT 

Check  that  journals,  gear  and  cams  are  not  worn  or  scored. 
Camshaft  journal  diameter  is  15.96 ...;- 15.98  mm.  and  is  not to 
be  ground  (Fig.  26). 

lf  values  vary  and  if  housing-to-journal  clearance  exceeds  0.10 
mm.,  replace  carnshaft. 

Check  cam  dimensions  as  per  table.

Light  dents  or  grooves  should  be  removed  with  a  very  fine 

carborundum  file and  finished  with  an equally fine-grain emery 
cloth. 

See  page  27  for  cam  timing  values. 

Camshaft  is  interchangeable  for  ali  the  engines  of  the  series. 

Camshaft  with  automatic  decompressor 

The  automatic  decornpression  device  is  fitted  to  camshafts  of 
engines equipped with rewind starter or eiectric starting.  The 
device  makes  starting  of  the  engine  easy  allowing  flywheel  to 
pickup momentum, being the exhaust valve kept open (Page 18 
and  19). 

As  camshaft  rotates  faster,  centrifugai  force  knocks  decom­

pressor  device  off  and  the  engine  starts. 

Check that centrifugai  weight  rnoves freely,  that  spring  is  cor­

rectly positioned and that protrusion of actuating spindle above 
cam  base  circle  is  16 ...;- 18  mm.  when  device  is  on  (Fig.  28). 

CRANKCASE 

Remove,  if  necessary,  seal  ring. 

Check  machined  faces,  ho/es  and  centerings. 

Measure  with  dia/  gauge  crankshaft  bearing,  sea/  ring  and 
camshaft housings;  check housing diameters at three different 

heights  (Fig.  29).

Kurbelwellenlager 

Es wird ein Kugellager  an Schwungradenseite und ein Nadellager 

an  Kraftabnahmenseite  montiert. 

Kugellager  ersetzen  fa/ls  die  Kugel oder  die  Mute  beschadigt 

sind,  wasdurch  Larm  wahrend  des  Betriebes  bemerkbar  wird. 

NOCKENWELLE 

Nocken, Zapfen und Zahnrad auf Abnutzung und  Riefen  pri.ifen. 
Der  Durchrnesser  der  Zapfen  muss 15,96 ...;- 15,98 mm  betragen 

(Abb.  26).  Der  Zapfen  darf  nicht  abgeschliffen  werden. 

Bei 

abweichenden Werten  und  falls  das  Spiel  zwischen  Zapfen 

und  Lager  0,10  mm  i.iberschreitet,  Nockenwelle  ersetzen.
