MDI-x Switch

MDI (Media Dependent Interface) is the standard wiring for end stations, and MDIX (Media Dependent

Interface with Crossover) is the standard wiring for hubs and switches. The x6010 device’s AutoCross

feature makes it possible for hardware to automatically correct errors in cable selection.

MDI/MDI-X selection for T1/E1 cable:

MDI (left position): Straight-Through cable.

MDI-X (right position): Crossover cable.
