ferent ways.

You can create a list of songs with the JukeBox func-
tion. For more information, see also the chapter “Tuto-
rial” on page 30.
1. Choose the first song with the TEMPO/VALUE
buttons (or the DIAL).

There are already songs and/or back-
ing sequences in memory
If the memory already contains a backing sequence
(Backing Sequence mode) or a song (Song Edit mode),
the message “Ok to erase B.Seq&Song Edit” may
appear in the display before loading an SMF in format
1, asking if you want to cancel the songs or backing
sequences already contained in the memory. Press
ENTER/YES to erase the memory contents and play-
back the new song. Press EXIT/NO to avoid losing the
memory contents.
If you want to save the data contained in memory, fol-
low the Save procedure in the Disk/Global mode to
save the backing sequences, the Save function on
“Page 13: Save” of the Song Edit mode to save the
song.
If the size of the file you wish to load is larger than the
size of the edit memory, the message “Can’t play all
tracks” will appear. Press ENTER/YES to continue
loading, or EXIT/NO to cancel.
If a file does not appear
In Song Play mode, only files with an extension of
“.MID” will be played back (for example,
MICHELLE.MID). You cannot view the SMF which
have been saved with a different filename extension.
Read the disk with a computer, and change the
filename extension to “.MID”. The name of the file
must be 8 characters long, plus period and “MID” suf-
fix (MS-DOS® conventions).
If the file does not comply with the Standard MIDI File
specifications, it might be impossible to read the file
with the iS35, or it might be read incorrectly, with a
bad sound.
Selecting the tracks
The track you have selected can be played on the key-
board, while the song is stopped or played back. Use
the VOLUME/PROGRAM buttons to select the track.
