SNMP V3 Profile
SNMP v3 can provide more security functions when the user performs remote
management through SNMP protocol. It delivers SNMP information to the administrator
with user authentication; all of data between JetNet 5020G and the administrator are
encrypted to ensure secure communication.
Security Level
: Here the user can select the following levels of security: None, User
Authentication, and Authentication with privacy.
Authentication Protocol
: Here the user can select either MD5 (Message-Digest algorithm
5) or SHA (Secure Hash Algorithm). MD5 is a widely used cryptographic hash function with
a 128-bit hash value. SHA (Secure Hash Algorithm) hash functions refer to five Federal
Information Processing Standard-approved algorithms for computing a condensed digital
representation. JetNet 5020G provides 2 user authentication protocols in MD5 and SHA.
You will need to configure SNMP v3 parameters for your SNMP tool with the same
authentication method.
Authentication Password
: Here the user enters the SNMP v3 user authentication
password.
DES Encryption Password
: Here the user enters the password for SNMP v3 user DES
Encryption.
