Main Menu - Interfaces
Common Interface (CI)
After calling up the menu, you will see the
following on-screen display (example):
Use the

buttons to select the CI slot you want and con fi rm your selection with the

button.
The receiver opens the menu generated by the module.
The screenshots below depend on the speci fi c module and card and are therefore only intended
as examples.

smartcard in the receiver's CI slot,
see Operating manual part 1 “Con-
nection and Start-Up”, chapter enti-
tled “Common Interface (CI)”.
From this menu, your card and your PIN code will allow you to access various channels from your pay
TV provider.
“CryptoWorks” has been selected as an example here. The details may be different for each CA module.
Always follow the instructions supplied by your pay TV provider!
The module on-screen displays may
appear in English even if you have
selected German as the menu lan-
guage for the receiver because the
menu is generated directly by the
module!
If your CA module is capable of decrypting multiple channels, you can press the

buttons to select
whether the module should only ever decrypt one channel (Off) or multiple channels simultaneously (On).
This function is optimised for “AlphaCrypt” modules and may lead to malfunctions with other modules.
If you select “Off”, when making an unencrypted recording of an encrypted channel, unencrypted viewing of
other encrypted channels of the selected transponder is not possible at the same time with the CA module
used.
