Software update by USB
After calling up the menu, you will fi rst see
the following on-screen display:
Main menu - Service menu
A pre-requirement for update via a USB device is an empty USB device (such
as a USB stick), formatted as FAT32, containing only the operating software
or channel list you want to load. It is essential that the operating software to
be loaded is stored on the USB device using the following directory structure:
Main folder: kathrein
Subfolder: ∟ ufs923
You can also download the updates on the Internet. The address is: http://www.kathrein.de
You will
fi nd the software at “Service” → “Software and Download” → “Receiver” → “UFS 923”
Software Update
First connect your USB device (containing the new operating software) to the receiver using a free USB port
on the receiver. Now select the “Update Firmware”
fi eld and con fi rm you want to start the update by press-
ing the

button. The receiver will ask you to con fi rm that you are sure you want to update the operating
software Press the

button to con fi rm the message shown. The receiver will now automatically perform
an update of the operating software.
Note all on-screen displays and follow the instructions on the receiver. Do not switch
off the receiver during this process. Wait until the automatic restart has been com-
pleted. If you not do this, the software on the unit may be corrupted.
You can use the Service menu to check whether the new software has been installed.
After a software update, check the receiver's time setting.
