Chapter Thirteen B mode measurement and calculation
13.1 B general measurements
B general measurement
is
usually done in B image mode. B measurement menu as figures:

13.1.1 Distance measurement
Function: measures the distance between two points.
Operation steps:
1. Move the cursor to

key, move the cursor to
image area and shows “+”;
2. Operate the trackball or the direction keys to move the “+” mark to the desired position, press
『
Set
』
key and make the “+” position as the starting point of the measurement;
3. Operate the trackball or the direction keys to move the “+” mark to the end point of the measurement,
at the same time a lighted dotted line appears between two measurement marks, constituting the
locus of the measurement, the “Distance1: mm” position on the right side of the screen
automatically shows the measured value;
4. Press

Measure

key to exchange the starting point and end point;
5. Press
『
Set
』
key to finish the first time measurement;
6. Repeat the steps from 2 to 5 to complete multi-group data measurement.
13.1.2 Circumference/area measurement
Two kinds of operation methods
A. Trace method measurement
Function: measures the circumference/area of a closed region with the trace method.

2. Operate the trackball or the direction keys to move the “+” mark to the desired position, press

key and make the “+” position as the starting point of the measurement;
3. Operate the trackball or the direction keys to move the “+” mark to the end point of the measurement,
at the same time a trace appears in the direction of operation between two measurement marks. The
measured circumference/area values are automatically displayed at the built-in mark “Cir1: mm,
Area1: cm
2
” on the right side of the screen. Press

Set

key, the right side of screen displays the
values of region formed by measurement line enclosure.
4. Repeat the steps from 2 to 3 to complete multi-group data measurement.
