In this example, two points on a test object are detected with one search line each. The distance between
the intersections is indicated directly in the display:
The current result is displayed directly in the dialogue as the distance. The switching points
designated
Min
and
Max
are adjusted on the right hand side. A graphic display is located in the
middle, in which the positions of the switching points are displayed and where they can be changed.
The right button is used to invert the result of the feature check.
Select the computation method.
Point-to-point:
Distance between two points
Rectangular distance:
Right angular distance between two points
To reference:
Distance to a reference edge
Edge to circle:
Distance from one edge to the centre of a circle
Circle to circle:
Distance between two points
Click on Teach to retrain a new reference.
Min. edge length:
With short, medium or long, select the anticipated length of the sought contour to
achieve a consistent result. Using User defined, you may manually enter the length of an edge (5-
1000 pixels)

Transition:
You must specify whether each edge can progress from bright to dark or from dark to
bright (device dependant).
Minimum contrast:
You can specify whether you are searching for an edge with sharp or weak
contrast.
