TRANSMISSION (STARTING/DRIVING) *
Manual transmission
Five direct gears and one reverse gear.
During gear shifting, depress the clutch
pedal to the limit; then release it slowly
after shifting.
During driving, do not
put the foot on the clutch pedal all
the time; or else, it is easy to cause
clutch failure.
Start the vehicle at the 1
st
gear.
Do not apply the reverse gear before the
vehicle is completely stably stopped.
Slowly shift the reverse gear to avoid
noises and even transmission damage.
Automatic transmission
The engine can be started only when the
shift lever is at parking gear (P) or neutral
gear (N).
When the shift lever is at other gears, the
internal safety locking mechanism will
cut off the ignition circuit, therefore, the
engine cannot be started.
After the engine is started, depress the
brake pedal and shift to the automatic
direct gear (D) or reverse gear (R)
according to the actual requirements.
Then, the vehicle can be started for
driving after releasing the brake pedal.
Note:
When the vehicle equipped with the
reverse radar is shifted to the reverse
gear, the radar alarm will beep once.
Note:
Protect the automatic transmission
control panel guide groove from invasion
of foreign matters such as coins and
melon seeds as well as fluids such as
water and juices, to avoid transmission
manipulation malfunction.
Note:
The automati c transmission is provided
with shift lever P-gear locking function;
therefore, the shift level will be locked
once being switched to the P gear. Do not
pull the shift lever forcibly in the case.
Instead, depress the brake level to
unlock the P gear when the ignition key is
connected to realize gear shift.
• The parking gear (P) can be shifted only
when the vehicle is completely stably
stopped after depressing the brake
pedal.
• Always confirm that the shift lever is
at parking gear (P) before leaving the
vehicle.
