SAFETY BELT
It is important for passengers on the rear
seats to wear safety belt, because they
would be thrown away in the vehicle
out of control in case of accidents. The
passenger on rear seat not wearing
safety belt will endanger not only
himself/ herself but also the passengers
on front seats.
Protection by safety belt
Wearing safety belt properly can keep
the passenger at the correct seat
position and synchronize the passenger
with the vehicle during acceleration.
The safety belt in deceleration will
significantly reduce the kinetic energy of
human body and mitigate the injury due
to uncontrolled motion. This explains
why the safety belt is so important.
The kinetic energy can be well absorbed
by the safety belt; therefore, passengers
will benefi t a lot for protection if the
safety belt is worn correctly. Other front
buffer mechanisms and supplementary
safety facilities including airbag system
can also absorb the kinetic energy and
mitigate passenger’s injury.
The example given only describes
the situation of front collision. Those
physical principles, however, apply to
other types of collisions as well.
Thus, please wear properly the safety
belt before each driving, even “driving
for a corner”. Pay attention to urging
your passengers to wear the safety belt.
The accident statistics prove that
wearing the safety belt as per the
regulations will lower the risk of injury
and enhance the possibility of survival.
The relevant regulations specify that the
safety belt shall be fastened.
