Common Maintenance Functions
Using common maintenance functions, you can diagnose device, monitor the device, change
the password, set the administrator's phone number, search and manage records, manage
scripts, and configure device settings.
10.1 Diagnosing Devices
The Telepresence System Manager provides diagnostics that can be used to check whether the
telepresence host and connected audio/video devices are functioning properly.
Right-click a device, and choose
Diagnose
.
Telepresence host: Check whether the telepresence host is properly communicating with
the system devices over the internal network or with other devices over the external
network.
Video ports: Check whether the local or remote video channels are working properly.
Audio ports: Check whether the local or remote audio channels are working properly.
10.2 Monitoring the Devices
From the device topology of the Telepresence System Manager, you can view version
information and operating status for the system devices.
To view version information and operating status for the devices, perform the following steps:
Version information: Click
to view version information about the system software.
You can also right-click a device and choose
Version Information
to view version
information about the device's hardware and software.
Operating status: Click a device to display its status. The operating status displays on the
right side of the page.
If a device icon is red (for example,
) or if
is displayed on a connection
line, the device is not working properly. Click the red device icon or
. In the
Exception
area, view
the possible causes and solutions for the exception.
