5 Starting a Conference

Starting a Conference

You can use multiple methods to start a conference from the touch panel.

If your telepresence system supports the PassCode function, in

Access Code

and

Meeting

Passcode

, enter the access number and password allocated by the service management center

(SMC) when you scheduled a conference, and tap

.



If the access number allocated by the SMC is the same as the value of

Default access code

under

>

Settings

>

Advanced Settings

>

Conference Settings

, you can join the conference by

filling in

Meeting Passcode

only and tapping

.



The

Access Code

is the

Unified access number

specified on the SMC for the MCU that hosts the

desired conference. The

Meeting Passcode

is the

Conference ID

specified on the MCU for the

desired conference. If the conference you wish to join is password protected, you must tap

and enter the password to join the conference.

5.1 Initiating a Conference by Using Different Methods

The telepresence system provides multiple paths to initiating a conference. Choose the
method you need based on the actual situation.

You can call multiple selected sites simultaneously to initiate a multipoint conference. During
a multipoint conference, all the sites can hear and view each other.

5.1.1 Initiating a Conference from Favorite Conferences

Context

From the Telepresence System Manager, define multiple conferences. These conferences are
favorite conferences. Synchronize the conferences to the touch panel. Then you can initiate a
conference using one of the predefined favorite conferences.
