8 Performing Conference Control Operations

Procedure
Step 1

more
from the home screen to display the conference controls list.
Step 2
Tap
Request Floor
.
If there are multiple requests for the floor, the chair site selects a site from the requesting list and
gives the floor to that site.
The site has unmuted microphones until the chair site gives the floor to another site.

8.3 Displaying or Hiding Captions
Context
Captions include middle captions, banners, and bottom captions. When the captions function
is enabled and captions are available in the conference, the captions are displayed on the local
center HD display.
Procedure
Step 1
Tap
more
on the home screen to display the conference controls list.
Step 2
Tap
Display Captions
to enable captions to be displayed on the local center HD display.
If both captions and scripts are available, scripts are displayed.
Step 3
Tap
Hide Captions
to hide captions.

8.4 Requesting and Releasing Chair Control Rights
Obtaining chair control rights gives you more conference control functions.
Context
If no chair site has been selected to chair a conference, any site can request chair control
rights. If the
Conference password
parameter was set for the conference, you must enter the
password to request chair control rights. After you obtain the chair control rights, your site has
more conference controls available than other sites and is automatically broadcast. After
releasing the chair control rights, you become a non-chair site and can only use the functions
for viewing sites, requesting the floor, displaying/hiding captions, and requesting chair control
rights are available.

Step 2
From the conference control list, tap
Request Chair
to request chair control rights.
