Reinstall the internal fan baffle. Refer to “Removing the Fan Baffle” earlier in 
this chapter. 

Installing a Processor Power Module 

 

IMPORTANT:

  A new PPM must always be installed with a new processor. 

To install a PPM: 

1. 

Locate the second PPM slot and position the PPM above the slot. The PPM is 
keyed to fit only one way in the slot. 

2. 

Be sure the latches are open before pressing the PPM into the slot (1). 

3. 

Press evenly on the PPM to insert it into the slot until latches snap up to secure 
the module (2).
