Drive won't accept tapes including
cleaning tape
First check :
Check that there isn't already media in the drive.
Check whether the tape is appropriate to that drive (DDS-4 tapes for DDS-4
drives etc.)
Check power connected. Check fuse. Check power cord.
Will the tape eject with a force eject? (Press the eject button >3 times within
5 seconds or hold the eject button down for >10 seconds)
Check if the drive has a hardware problem. (e.g. Broken tape door)
Then do this :
Ensure power to the drive (check it is plugged in and switched on, or change
power cable).
Power cycle
the drive.
If another drive is available to swap in, try this to confirm drive or power
problem.
Push the unload button and if the tape doesn't eject hold the unload button for
approximately 10 seconds to force eject. If this fails turn the power off and on
again.
