If this was not successful then call for
service
External drive has no lights showing
First check :
Check power connected.
Check fuse.
Check power cord.
Then do this :
Ensure power to the drive (check plugged in and switched on, change power
cable).
Power cycle
the drive.
If another drive is available to swap in, try this to confirm whether it is a
drive or power problem.
If power LED still off, then call for
service
Tape ejected immediately
First check :
Check that the correct media is being used. A DDS-4 drive will not accept
60m DDS-1 media.
Check that the tape has not snapped (see diagram below). A cassette with a
snapped tape typically has pulled the tape inside, and no tape is visible.
