Creating
a
Disk
Image
Y
ou
need
some
kno
wledge
of
device
les
to
create
a
disk
image.
The
DDS
tap
e
driv
e
and
the
disks
inside
y
our
system
use
device
les
to
receiv
e
and
transmit
data.
The
DDS
tap
e
driv
e
uses
the
device
le
called
/dev/rmt/0mn .
The
ro
ot
( / )
disk
uses
/dev/rdsk/6s0
,
and
the
user
( /usr )
disk
uses
/dev/rdsk/5s0 .

create
a
disk
image:
1.
Sh
ut

put
it

single-user

log
in
as
root
and

shutdown
After
a
one-min
ute
pause,
this
will
bring
all
pro cesses
on

our
computer
to
a
halt
and
cause

to
a
mo
de
in
whic

root
is
the
only
user.
Note
If
other
users
are
logged
in
to

our
computer,
they
will
receiv
e
a
message
to
the
eect
that
their
sessions
will
end
in
60
seconds.

tab
in
one
corner.
This
tab
is
used
to
op en
and
close
the
\recognition
hole"
in
the
cassette.
If
the
hole
is
op en,
the
cassette
is
write-protected;
if
it
is
closed,
data
may
b e
written
on
the
tap
e.
If
necessary
,
slide
the
tab
to
close
the
recognition
hole.
