The
mkrs
command
has
the

the
name
of
the
device
le
for
the
cartridge
tap
e
driv
e
on
whic
h
y
ou
will
create

our
reco
v
ery
system.
The
mkrs
command
will,

it
exits
as
a

haracter
device
le,
else

if
it
exits
as
a

exits
as

If
none
of
the
ab o
v
e
defaults
exists
on

our
system,
y
ou
m
ust
either
create
one
of
them
or

the
reco
v
ery
device

using
the
-f
option.
The
reco
v
ery
device
le
can

either
a
blo
c
k
or
a
c
haracter
device
le.
An
error
message
will
result
if
the
user
do es
not
use
one
of
the
defaults
and
do es
not
sp ecify
a
reco
v
ery
device
le
name.
The
-v
option
sp ecies
y
ou
w
an
t
to
see
a
running
history
of
the
construction
of
the
reco
v
ery
system.
The
-q
option
sp ecies
that
the
reco
v
ery
system's
image
b e
created
in
the
/tmp
directory
b efore
b eing
copied
to
the
reco
v
ery
media
(the
-q
option
is
the
default
for
a
DDS
tap
e
reco
v
ery
system).
This
option
sa
v
es
time
due
to
seeking
on
DDS
tap
e
media.
The
-s
option
sp ecies
that
a
smaller
set
of
system
les
b e
placed
on
the
reco
v
ery
media;
this
applies
when
making
a
DDS
tap
e
reco
v
ery
system
for
a
small
memory
system.
The
-s
option
is
r
e
quir
e
d
when
building
a
reco
v
ery
system
for
a
Series
700
computer
on
DDS-format
media.
