Workflow
1. Checks and startup
1.1. Reagent level checks
1.1.1. Bottle units
◆
The system manages automatically the HORIBA ABX reagents (reagent level and expiry date).
If this function is configured, you will be informed on the reagents status at the end of instrument
startup. See Section 7,
4.2. Reagent management, page 7-21
to set this function.
◆
If this function is not set, it is required to check the levels of each reagent before operating the
system. If a reagent level is "Low", replace the reagent (See Section 7,
and
3.5. Reagent installation, page 7-13
).
1.1.2. Pack unit
All reagents and a waste bladder are contained in one reagent pack
- Configure your pack for an
automatic management (See Section 7,
4.2. Reagent management, page 7-21
). When a reagent pack
runs low, the instrument will display a message stating that the reagent pack is low. This warning
message is given according to the number of cycles left in the pack. Replace the pack (See Section
7,
4.2.2. Reagent creation, page 7-22
and
3.5. Reagent installation, page 7-13
).
1.2. Printer power and on-line checks
◆
Prior to instrument startup, always check the printer integrated or external (optional) to verify
that the power is turned "ON" and that the LEDs are in the ready state.
◆
Check that the printer has sufficient paper for the daily operations.
◆
Check the alignment of the paper if your printer is a tractor feed printer.
1.3. Instrument startup
Power on
◆
Switch the instrument on by pressing the ON/OFF switch, located on the back of the instrument.
◆
The instrument performs an initialization phase for the internal electronics. Please wait.
Startup cycle
◆
Once the initialization phase is complete, the ABX Micros
ES60
OT/CT will automatically run a
startup cycle, if and only if the instrument has been programmed for an automatic startup cycle
(See Section 6,
8.2.1. Settings startup cycle, page 6-17
). This function is activated by default.
◆
The ABX Micros
ES60
OT/CT will perform a startup cycle which primes all the reagents, checks the
fluidic and mechanical movements.
Never pour reagent from one container into another! Any type of
contamination present in the old reagent would affect the new reagent.
Unacceptable background counts will most likely occur especially for PLT's.
Always use the reagents caps provided with the instrument to prevent reagent
pollution or oxidation.
If the ABX Micros
ES60
OT/CT does not automatically run a startup cycle after
the initialization phase is completed, press "
Startup
" button in the "
Status
"
area (See
) to initiate a startup cycle.
If an error occurs in fluidic or mechanic movements, the startup is stop before
blank counting. The "
Startup cycle failed
" message is displayed and blank
results for each parameter are replaced by "
--.--
".
Press "
Cancel
" button to close the dialog box and consult status area for more
detailed information.
