harness is not
turned inside out.
The D-ring pad
should lie flat
against your
body with the
back D-ring in an
outward position
and both letters
“A” visible.
The leg straps
should now be
hanging behind
your buttocks.
Reach between
your legs and
pull the leg
straps through,
one at a time,
and buckle them
at your hips.
Adjust the straps
loosely for now
(see figure 4C if
leg strap is
equipped with
quick connect
buckle or
equipped with
tongue and buckle fastener).
Adjust the shoulder straps by passing the
webbing
backwards or
forwards through
the sliding bar
friction buckle
above the hip.
Start at your left
hip and repeat
on the right (see
figure 4D). Keep
the straps snug
but comfortable.
Equalize the fit
by keeping the
strap ends as
equal as possible
in length.
Then fasten the
chest or any
belt/waist straps
on the harness
and tighten the
leg straps.
Shoulder retainer
strap must be
worn above the
bust line (see
figure 4E).
Tighten the leg
straps to fit
snugly without
restricting
movement. A
guide for a snug
fit is that your
fingers should fit
beneath the
strap to the
knuckles but not
beyond. Keep
the straps even-
ly adjusted.
Finally, check
that the back D-ring is properly located in
the middle of your shoulder blades. Reach
back, over your shoulder with your elbow
pointing upwards. You should just be able
to grasp the D-ring with your fingertips.
Have a co-worker verify its location
visually on your behalf (figure 4F).
Readjust the harness and D-ring position
if you can not complete this action.
Now, check that all belts and straps are
secure and snug. Be sure they do not
bind or restrict movement. Secure all
straps into keepers or tuck them into the
harness. When crouching, your sub pelvic
strap should provide a seat for the
buttocks in the harness.

WARNING
Adjustable shoulder retainer strap
must be worn above the bust line to
keep shoulder straps in position.
Adjust so that neither shoulder strap
can slip off the shoulder when fitted.
Failure to do so could result in the
wearer losing the protection of the
harness in the event of a fall and
being exposed to the possibility of
serious injury or death.
