8.9 POWERLINK Controlled Node/Slave
For the POWERLINK Controlled Node protocol, the communication LEDs
BS
(Bus Status) and
BE
(Bus Error) as well as the Ethernet LED
L/A
can
assume the states described below. This description is valid from stack
version V2.1.

LED state
Definition
On
The indicator is constantly on.
Off
The indicator is constantly off.
Triple Flash
The indicator shows a sequence of three short flashes (each 200 ms), separated by a short off
phase (200 ms). The sequence is finished by a long off phase (1,000 ms).
Double flash
The indicator shows a sequence of two short flashes (each 200 ms), separated by a short off
phase (200 ms). The sequence is finished by a long off phase (1,000 ms).
Single flash
The indicator shows one short flash (200 ms) followed by a long “off“ phase (1,000 ms).
Flickering
(10 Hz)
The indicator turns on and off with a frequency of approximately 10 Hz: on for approximately 50
ms, followed by off for 50 ms. Red and green LEDs shall be on alternately.
Blinking
(2,5 Hz)
The indicator turns on and off with a frequency of approximately 2.5 Hz:
on for approximately 200 ms, followed by off for 200 ms. Red and green LEDs shall be on
alternately.
Flickering (load
dependant)
The indicator turns on and off with a frequency of approximately 10 Hz to indicate high Ethernet
activity: on for approximately 50 ms, followed by off for 50 ms. The indicator turns on and off in
irregular intervals to indicate low Ethernet activity.
