4.1.12 Masking Response
When unset, a masking event will generate an audible “alert” that requires response in the
normal way. There will be NO signal transmitted to the ARC. When set, a masking event will
generate an ‘intrusion’ response including “intruder” or “unconfirmed” output, but will NOT
result in a confirmed alarm if paired with a activation of the same detector. This harmonises
with the requirement of EN50131-1 clause 8.4.5 and the insurer’s preference expressed in
BSIA Form 171.
