1 Infeed
When the material has reached the end of the infeed buffer chains (auto) or been loaded onto the
machine and assigned a status (manual) it is transported by the chains and cams of the sideways
loading chains to the non-driven infeed roller conveyor. It is pushed into position against the vertical
rollers ready to be detected and gripped.
2 Search and grip material
The gripper moves forward to detect the material. Once detected the gripper closes on the
material.
3 Move material to cutting cell
The gripper pushes the material towards the cutting cell. At the end of the non-driven roller
conveyor a sensor detects the material and the gripper stops at the starting point for the
marking/cutting process.
ATTENTION!
During manual cutting it is possible that a rest piece of raw material is being used. If the
end of the material is not straight it may be necessary to adjust the position of the material.
The sensor detects the end of the material, if the rest piece has been cut at an angle move
the material forward until the total width of the bar is available for cutting.
4 Select a data file
Select a data file (GPD or TAF) by opening the ‘Cutting’ menu in the menu bar at the top of
your screen. When you have selected a file, press ‘Start Cutting’.
5 Initialise
Once the file has been loaded, press ‘Initialise’. The machine uses this reference position to
determine the location of the first cut.
6 Measuring Material
The measuring procedure is fully automated, no manual intervention is necessary. Press ‘Measure’,
the material will now be moved to the start position for marking or cutting. The machine will
automatically move the printer forward and lower the printing head (for marking) or move the
material into the cutting cell and close the measuring clamps (cutting).
7 Approach
Once the material is in position, press ‘Approach’ to move the printer head into position (marking) or
the robot arm to the material (cutting).
8 Ignite plasma
Press ‘Ignite’ to ignite the plasma torch (cutting).
9 Start cutting
Press ‘Play’ to begin marking or cutting.
10 Feed out finished parts
Unload the finished part. Small parts are pushed from the belt, larger parts move on to the
outfeed conveyor. The outfeed buffer chains are raised lifting the material from the
conveyor. At any time you can interrupt the outfeed with the ‘Hold’ button. To resume the
outfeed action press the ‘Resume automatic outfeed’ button.
When the first cut has been completed the robot arm will return to the safe position. Repeat steps 6 to 10
until all cuts in the data file have been processed.
