4•2 User Guide
SOUNDS & THE KEYBOARD MODE
The keyboard sounds can be configured in sev-
eral different ways by means of the
Keyboard
Activators. The various configurations obtained
are determined by the current Keyboard Mode.
The Keyboard Mode has two settings to choose
from: FULL and SPLIT (set in Arrange Mode/
Split).
FULL MODE
When Full Mode is set, the Upper 1 and/or Up-
per 2 keyboard sections can play over the whole
keyboard range while the Lower section is disa-
bled. Therefore, when you play with Styles, the
accompaniment tracks recognise the current Split
Point while the keyboard sounds override it. This
allows you to play Styles with the same keyboard
sounds over the full keyboard range. The Upper
1 and Upper 2 sections can be activated/deacti-
vated at will to introduce or cancel the keyboard
sounds as required.
SPLIT MODE
When Split Mode is set, the Lower section is ena-
bled and the current Split Point for the Styles is
recognised when Lower is active.
When you play in Real Time mode (Arrange On/
Off = Off), if Lower is off, the Upper keyboard
sections play over the entire keyboard range. Ac-
tivating Lower assigns the Upper sections to the
right keyboard area while Lower plays on the left.
The boundary that divides the Upper and Lower
keyboard sections is determined by the current
Split Point.
When you play with Styles (Arrange On/Off=On),
setting Split Mode allows you to activate/deacti-
vate three keyboard sections at will (Upper 1,
Upper 2, Lower). If Lower is off, the Upper key-
board sections remain active over the right key-
board area while the Lower sound does not play.
