5.1.2 Event Timer Operation
The event timer option in the MCTB configuration provides the OEM with a countdown timer connected to event
1 output. This provides simple, timed operation of the system for a preset period when more complex automatic
program operation is not required. When the option is enabled, a “Stopwatch” icon is provided in the menu bar
at the upper right of the Loop View and Overview screens.
While the timer is not in operation, event 1 can be turned on and off manually by the user. When the timer is
running, the event is forced on by the timer. Once the timer completes its cycle, the event will be forced off. To
start the timer, simply press the “Stopwatch” icon and the numeric keypad will be displayed. Enter the desired
time and press the Start button to begin timer operation (see section 5.1.2.1 Entering the Time and Starting the
Timer below).
Once the timer is in operation, the blue program status bar on the Loop View screen and the program status
field at the bottom of the Overview screen will indicate that the timer is active with the total time the timer was
set for along with the time remaining (i.e., Timer Active (HH:MM:SS) - HH:MM:SS remaining).
To stop the timer, press the “Stopwatch” icon. This will display a dialog with a “Yes” and “No” prompt to stop
the timer. Selecting “Yes” will turn event 1 output off and the timer will be stopped.
NOTE: Timer operation and automatic program operation cannot be performed at the same time. If the timer
is active, an automatic ramp/soak program cannot be started. Likewise, if an automatic ramp/soak
program is in operation, the timer cannot be activated.
