Press each field to add the user ID, full name and password (no spaces allowed, 5 characters minimum and 16
characters maximum). If two-factor authentication is enabled (see section
7.4 Setting Security Options ), a valid
SMS number must be entered in the 2FA SMS Number field for the user. This allows the system to send a
security code to the user’s personal device during the log in process.
If two-factor authentication is not enabled, users can be added without filling in the 2FA SMS Number field.
However, if the 2FA security option is later enabled, users without an entry for the 2FA SMS Number, will not
be held to the two-factor authentication login process. They will be able to log in by simply entering their user
ID and password.
NOTE: The SMS address is specific to the service provider. Each service provider has their own unique
address; however, the phone
number is always the “name” for the address entry. There are internet
sites with this information that cover most of the providers, or when in doubt, contact your service
provider for the proper address format.
Once all entries are made, press the “Create” button to add the user to the system. If the passwords do not
match or the user ID is already used, the MCTB will alert the user and not accept the entry.
7.2 Viewing Users
The
“Users” tab provides the administrator with the ability to view information on each user entered into the
system. Password information is not available. The user can be deleted from this tab and a new password for
each user can also be entered from this area.
