Cluster Functions Provided in Linux 

Environments

9.2.1

Cluster Configurations

Two types of PRIMEQUEST cluster configuration  are available:  Intra-cabinet 
cluster and inter-cabinet cluster.

9.2.1.1 Inter-cabinet cluster configuration

For the inter-cabinet cluster configuration, the cabinet is treated as one node or 
multiple nodes to construct a cluster system.

Because the same operation is performed in another cabinet, the degree of redundancy 
is high compared with the intra-cluster configuration, thereby increasing reliability.

The following example shows a connection of shared disk units by fibre channel.  The 
system disk is connected to two IO_Units and mirroring is applied by the 
PRIMECLUSTER Global Disk Services (GDS).  Two separately mounted IO_Units 
increase the resilience against failures.
