Communication

When the slaves are switched on, they assume the status
pre−operational" and wait for the master.

Pre−operational

This status serves exclusively for parametrizing via SDOs.

The PDOs of the SFC−LAC are assigned as follows:

asynchronous transmission (event triggered)

This  parametrizing  corresponds  to  the  asynchronous  trans
mission  which  is  standard  with  most  masters.  Conversion  to
e.g.  synchronous  transmission  is  possible  if  the  communica
tion  parameters  are  written  with  the  appropriate  values  from
the  DS301  communication  profile,  but  modifying  the  mapping
is  not  possible.

Operational

After  successful  parametrizing,  the  CANopen  master  can
switch  slaves  into  the  operational  status  with  a  special  net
work  management  telegram  (NMT).

In  this  status,  communication  via  SDO  and  PDO  is  possible.
With  the  aid  of  the  NMT  telegrams  you  can  switch  between
the  different  states,  if  required.
