6.57 Change the hydraulic oil

fine filter

Danger

Danger of scalding!

Danger of scalding by hot oil when unscrewing
the fine filter.

Environment

Do not let old oil seep into the ground, but dis-
pose off environmentally.

Caution

If the filter has to be changed together with the
hydraulic oil, the filter must only be changed
after the oil change and after the test run.

Note

Apart from the normal oil change intervals, the fil-
ter element must also be changed after major re-
pairs in the hydraulic system.

Open the right hand service door.

Fig. 341

Remove the locking wire, if present.

Unscrew the spigot nut (Fig. 341).

Remove filter bowl (1) with filter element (2).

Caution

Catch running out oil.

Do not use the oil in the filter bowl again.

Take out the old filter elements, clean the filter
bowls.

Clean the threads on the filter bowls.

Assemble the filter bowls with a new filter ele-
ments, check the condition of the seal rings
(3).

Run the engine for about 3 minutes with low
speed, this will bleed the hydraulic system.

Check for leaks after a short test run.
