If necessary retighten the stuffing boxes even-
ly on both sides.

Caution

Do not over tighten the stuffing boxes!

During operation a small quantity of fluid must
leak out of the packing, so that it is lubricated
and cooled.

Caution

If retightening is no longer possible, replace
the stuffing boxes.
