Global Configurator
Once the interface has been designed and uploaded to the TLP 350CV, use
Global Configurator to assign functions to the buttons, icons, and text that appear
on the screen.
This section provides an overview of the Global Configurator program. For
complete information about the program, consult the Global Configurator Help File
(click on Contents in the Help Menu).
Global Configurator (GC) is a software application that lets users create a single
configuration file of all devices on an A/V network, supporting up to 100 rooms.
There are two categories of devices in an A/V network:
• Controllers and Extron IP Link® devices – interfaces, switchers, and control
panels that have Ethernet ports for network connectivity, and serial infrared
(IR) ports for A/V device connectivity. (See page 1-4 for a list of IP Link
devices).
• A/V devices – video projectors, displays, DVD players, VCRs, document
cameras, projector screens, and room lighting. These devices are the equipment
used to generate and display an audio/visual presentation.
Once this "global" configuration file is built, GC generates a graphical user interface
known as GlobalViewer
®
, allowing users to monitor and control all A/V devices
contained within the GC configuration file.
Once a layout is created for the panel, Global Configurator can assign control
functions for layout items. This includes assigning control functions to buttons
created for the specific A/V equipment.
