Bandwidth Management Formula 

If different voice compression methods are required for each port being extended the 
following formula will assist in calculating the required bandwidth: 

 

(A x 30) + (B x 50) + (C x 60) + (D x 90) = E 

 

where: 

ƒ

  A = number of ports using G.729A 

ƒ

  B = number of ports using ADPCM32 

ƒ

  C = number of ports using ADPCM24 

ƒ

  D = number of ports using G.711 

ƒ

  E = total bandwidth required
