IP Dual Port PBXgateway and Remote System Administrator’s Guide
42
Essential Configuration of the Analog Port
The Single and Dual Port Remote are both available with an optional analog port for local
dialing. Labeled “Analog” on the back of the Remote, it provides a PSTN (Public Services
Telephone Network) connection to an analog telephone line for the purpose of reaching
local emergency services (fire, police, etc.) or for making local calls. The main Analog port
configuration screen is shown below:
If a user dials emergency services on the digital set at the remote location when the
telephone is connected to the Remote and “linked” to the PBXgateway you will reach the
emergency facility that serves the location of the PBXgateway (corporate facility) and
not
the remote location. To ensure that you reach the correct emergency services for your
area, use a telephone and/or line connected locally.
