Within the Key Mapping menu structure is the Analog Key field. The Analog Key field is
programmed with the telephone line key (of the digital set) that will be used to access the
analog line. The Analog Key configuration screen is shown below:

Figure 19: Remote – Analog Key Configuration Screen
1. Configuring
the
Analog Key
– This is the key the user would press to access the
analog line. Keys 0 to 15 are supported and the default setting is Key 4.
2. Enabling
the
Speaker Key
(Nortel Norstar PBX only) – When set to enabled this
allows for the user to have handsfree operation for the FXO port when not connected
to the PBXgateway.
Operation of the Analog port:
i. If power to the Remote is disrupted the analog line will
not
be available.
ii. Calls made using the analog port are
not
routed through the PBXgateway and
subsequently the corporate PBX. Therefore, none of the PBX features will be
available. Only features supplied by the PSTN will be available to the user.
iii. The Analog port can be used whether the network connection is established with the
PBXgateway or not. If the connection is
not
available the telephone will show
“Press 1 to connect…” and the analog line can be accessed by pressing the
preprogrammed Analog Key on the digital set, pressing the speaker key or by going
offhook.
iv. If the connection to the PBXgateway
is
established (normal operation) the
telephone set will display the time and date and the analog line can be accessed by
pressing the preprogrammed Analog Key on the digital set, entering the Analog
Dialing Prefix or by dialing the Emergency Number (discussed in detail on the next
page).
The Analog Port configuration menu allows for programming the operational parameters
for the appearance, access and routing of analog calls. The Analog Port configuration
screen is shown on the next page:
