Chapter 1 Overview of the Content Delivery Engines

Hardware Features

CDE460 Hardware Overview

The CDE460 ships with the following components installed:

•

2 Intel Sandy Bridge 2.3GB15M CPUs

•

4 onboard copper Gigabit Ethernet NICs

•

2 hot-swappable redundant power supplies, option of AC or DC

•

16 - 8-GB DIMM (RAM)

•

2 Intel 10G SFP+ dual-port Ethernet adapter cards

•

1 MegaRaid SAS internal disk controller inserted into the first slot from the right (looking from the
rear)

•

1 SAS external disk controller inserted into the third slot from the right (looking from rear)

•

1 SAS integrated disk controller on the motherboard

•

36 3-TB 3.5-inch SAS drive is mounted to bay expanders designed to slide into the CDE460 chassis,
24 in the front of the chassis and 12 in the rear

•

36 4-TB SAS drive is mounted to bay expanders designed to slide into the CDE460 chassis, model
used is 4R3

Note

External drives and bay expanders are shipped separately and are not installed in the CDEs.
