Identifying the Inner Rack Rails
Locking Tabs
Both chassis rails have a locking tab that locks the CDE into place when it is installed and pushed fully
into the rack. These tabs also lock the CDE in place when it is fully extended from the rack. This prevents
the CDE from coming completely out of the rack when you pull it out for servicing.
Inner Rail Extension
The inner rails are preattached and do not interfere with normal use of the chassis if you decide not to
use a rack. Attach the inner rail extensions to stabilize the chassis within the rack. If you are not using
a rack, you do not have to install the inner rail extensions.
Installing the Rev. A Inner Rails
Perform the following steps to install the inner rails:
Step 1
Place the inner rack extensions on the side of the chassis, aligning the hooks of the chassis with the rail
extension holes. Make sure the extension faces outward just like the preattached inner rail (see
