When running in manual mode, press the
SPEED

buttons at the bottom of the CHI
panel to adjust the speed setting.
NOTE: Manual mode speed
adjustments should be temporary.
To permanently set the speed for
a specific program, refer to the
Programming section.
As a general rule, start with the spreader/feeder
speed set slightly slower than the ironer speed,
up to five feet per minute.
If the feeder is set too fast, the flatwork will
bunch as it feeds into the ironer. If the speed is
set too slow, the flatwork will be excessively
stretched.
Counters
The standard message screen on the CHI
control panel shows the total running count of all
pieces processed for the selected program since
the last reset of the counter.

Counts for a specific program cannot be
manually adjusted up or down.
To reset the count for a specific program
to zero, press and hold the – button for
three seconds.

Total Counters
The unit also keeps a count of all pieces
processed by each station since the last reset of
the counter. To see the total count by station:
Move the cursor under CNT; then, press
the ENTER button. The total counts for
each station display for ten seconds.

Holding the “+” key will extend the dis-
play time.
To reset all counts to zero, press and hold
the – button for 3 seconds.
Self-Diagnostics
The CHI system continuously monitors itself
for sensing and processing errors. If an error
occurs, a flashing diagnostic message appears
on the display indicating the problem and/or its
location.
The problem should be addressed immediately.
If necessary, bring the problem to the attention of
maintenance or service personnel. The machine
may still be operational depending on the type of
error and where it happened.

Keep clear of moving parts.
Never reach into a machine
when the power is on.
