PE1 Spreader Inlet
Detects when flatwork enters the
spread section of the unit. Alerts
corner sensors that sheet is coming.
For items shorter than 60”, it signals
that the inlet reject sensor (PE11)
should be deactivated. If sensor is
covered too long, a jam condition is
assumed and machine shuts down.

PE2A-C Left Corner
Detect the trailing edge of the
flatwork entering the clutch roll.
Three sensors located at either side
of the inlet conveyor are activated
when the beam is interrupted by
flatwork. The clutch stops when
the flatwork has cleared the area
covered by the three sensors on
that side.

Detects the trailing edge of an
item as it travels up the discharge
conveyor. This sensor controls the
sequencing of the spreading and
laydown for the next item.

Detects when the flatwork is close to
being completely spread and slows
the spread speed.

Wall Sensors
Detect and prevent material from
entering and getting jammed in
the lower spreader belt pulleys.
When either sensor is tripped, the
spreader reverses direction, and
returns the flatwork to the center of
the unit where it will be dropped.

Station 1 (Left)
Material Sensor
Detects when flatwork has been
placed on the Station 1 table. A
signal is then sent, causing the
pneumatic clamps to engage,
holding the material in the carriage.
Note that the carriage home
proximity sensor (PX32) must also
be on to the carriage clamps to
close and transport the item up the
prefeeder transfer pickup clamps.
