Use the carriage block jam nut tool or a
metric socket held by vice grips to loosen
a carriage block jam nut (Figure 73, A).
Insert a metric Allen wrench through the
socket (Figure 73, B) and tighten the ec-
centric cam adjustment bolt. Do not over
tighten.
Tighten the jam nut.
NOTE: Each adjustment bolt
should be adjusted relatively
equally.
Repeat Steps 7 to 9 for the other jam nut/
adjustment bolt.
Manually push the carriage assembly back
and forth to check for excessive friction.
If the assembly is difficult to move, the
adjustment is too tight.
Repeat Steps 7 to 11 until the carriage as-
sembly moves smoothly but not too easily
with no lateral wiggle in the carriage.
Replace the black plastic dust caps re-
moved in Step 6.
Reinstall the upper transfer clamp bracket
using the bolts removed in Step 5. Before
securing the bracket make sure to pre-
cisely align with the guide mark made in
Step 3.
Press the compressed air “double T” fitting
back into place.
Replace the left and right Plexiglas guides.
Make sure the Plexiglas is on the inner side
of the mounting bracket (Figure 67).
Lower the front access guard back into
position. Make sure it is secure.

Increase the Air Cushion

Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Turn OFF the compressed air supply to
the unit.
Make sure the compressed air system is
depressurized.
WARNING
To adjust the air cushion at
the back of the air cylinder, it
will be necessary to stand on
a sturdy ladder. A fall could
cause personal injury and/or
damage to the machine.
Use extreme caution!
To adjust the front air cushion, raise the
front access guard and secure in position
using the provided bracket arms (Figure
65).
